Funeral Directors for almost 40 years at Downpatrick, Northern Ireland.

Charles Rourke and Sons are independent family Funeral Directors that have been serving the Downpatrick community, Northern Ireland, and the surrounding areas for almost 40 years.

The founder, Mr Charles Rourke (top and centre opposite), started conducting funerals in 1968 at the request of local families and the business progressed over the years, with emphasis on personal service. Charlie was involved in arranging every funeral until his recent retirement.

However, the family tradition continues, with day-to-day running of the business now in the hands of sons Martin (centre left) and Barry (centre right), accompanied by their wives, Claire (bottom right) and Althea (bottom left).

In 2000, we opened our new purpose built facility on the site of the original funeral home. The many features include an attractive funeral church with sound and recording system, rest rooms, office facilities, coffin viewing room, embalming theatre and garage area.

The year 2000 also saw the expansion of our memorial service business - which now includes erection of new grave memorials, refurbishing of existing headstones and arranging additional inscriptions.
